Second LNG ship berths at Curtis Island

The first ship left Gladstone harbour on Monday afternoon with its world-first shipment of liquefied natural gas processed from coal seam gas.

It was bound for Singapore.

The ship spent about 10 days in Gladstone as systems were all tested before loading.

The newly-arrived LNG ship, Methane Mickie Harper, has been sitting at Fairway Buoy this week waiting to come in.

At plateau production, which is expected to be reached in 2016, QCLNG will have an output of around 8 million tonnes of LNG each year.
